Up to this point, it has felt like it’s just a fragment of my imagination. Then I see the actual house being built, and we just saw the appraisal report, and it’s like WOW! That’s our house! Amazing. I never would have thought I would be under 30 and be a homeowner!

Clearly I have no concept of artistic design, so all the furniture, appliances, and the works are decided by DH. I got kind of nervous yesterday when we placed our order for new couches. $5000!! Custom order, so no returns. We’re basically purchasing something we haven’t seen in person… so fingers crossed that it turns out ok. Other major purchases we have to make are: bed (our old one goes in the guestroom), night stands, armoires/chests/drawers/tv stand,  fridge, washer/dryer, and begrudingly, a new TV for the “man cave.” Oh, and of course items to built my walk-in closet All these items have a short lead-time so we’ll purchase closer to move-in date.

We get our keys on July 1, but we’re out of town June 2~4 (our one year anniversary) to go up to Napa, so we probably won’t even start moving in til the weekend after!

I We have accumulated so much crap over the years, I don’t even know where to start… throw away? keep? store? donate? I’m so not looking forward to moving.

• Finally got IPL. Been dreaming of this day since, well, high school. Only got one treatment ($50 Spa Week special!!) and freckles are still visible, but DRASTICALLY less. Yay! Pics to come.
• Brother moved out –> SIL coming in June. Kind of sad that he left, but he needs to lead his own life too. Need to clean the house before my new lil sis moves in
• CLOSING in 2 months. We expect to move into our new place in early July. Our first home! I can’t wait. DH promises to convert an extra room into my own personal closet… how awesome is that!
• got reservations at French Laundry for our first anniversary
• but can’t seem to get hotel reservations that weekend… damn why does everyone have to go to Napa on 4th of July weekend?! Still searching for hotel deals
• and also flight deals to go to Japan. We’re thinking of heading over in September so DH can finally meet my extended family, and also explore the country via bullet train. We already have so many awesome things planned! Let’s hope my Japanese is good enough.

This was the SECOND time in a row that they delivered flowers on the wrong date! Delivery on the correct date is imperative when you know someone will not be at the residence otherwise.

The first time it happened, I was pissed. They delivered the flower one day afterwards, and the recipient was gone. I wanted a full refund, but they said since I hadn’t “complained quickly enough” the most they’d give me was 50%. I relunctantly accepted.

The SECOND time, they delivered the flowers early. The recipient was not there, so the flowers were left at the leasing office . It stayed there for 2 days before it was picked up… probably all wilted by then. I was livid! After getting in touch w/ them on the day I heard of the issue (thus complying with the “quick complaint” rule), they offered me a 20% refund. I refused. Next thing I know, I see a 20% refund on my credit card. What the hell?

Look, I’m not in the business of trying to rip companies off. I just want my damn flowers delivered on the day I ask you to deliver them. If I don’t get a 100% satisfactory product/service, I’m going to want an adjustment for fair value. In my opinion, 20% was not fair. Even if it were, we had NOT reached a suitable agreement, so it is out of line to unilaterally decide so and issue me a refund that I can no longer reject. Ugh!!!!! [/vent]

Especially that part about some infection coming out of “someone who was probably wearing shorts.” Dude, seriously, TMI!!

Considering there really is no way for me to commute to work without utilizing BART (unless I pay exorbitant bridge/parking fees), I am going to stay away… FAR far away from those cushions. Yuck!

Not complaining, since pay cut = less work hours. I’m definitely going to need to be more mindful about my spending. Thank goodness I’m participating in tpf’s No Spend Day challenge b/c this whole cutting down thing is more fun.

The biggest challenge for me is going to be cutting down on eating out for lunch. I am such a lazy bum, I hate preparing lunch the night before, so I end up going out and spending about $10/day on food. That’s $200/month!
