Fall shorts

I don’t think I’ve worn shorts since… middle school. But lately I’m loving the look of high-waist shorts, paired with thigh-high socks or boots, kind of like this:

I know exactly what I want; I want a pair of light gray wool shorts so I can pair them with my opaque tights. Super comfy, warm enough for Fall, yet work appropriate. My kinda look! I have yet to come across the perfect pair… but I did find some shorts that I do like:

DVF Nassir shorts, shop at Shopbop for $122.50 (orig. $245). I do like these, but I not exactly what I want. I also think they look a little too casual for work.

Marc Jacobs Twill shorts, shop at Shopbop for $180.60 (orig. $258). These would DEFINITELY have been on my must-buy list a few years ago! Love the military look… but I feel like I’m getting too old for that style… =’(

Ok, now on to some interesting shorts…

DVF Sequin shorts, shop Bloomingdales, $129.99 (orig. $325). I have sequin tanks, and a sequin vest, but I really do not think I could pull these shorts off! The only place you could get away with wearing these are probably at a club. And if you’re in your early twenties. :p

Elie Tahari perforated leather shorts, shop at Bloomingdale’s, $149.25 (orig. $398). These could possibly be cute. Can’t really tell how shiny or perforated these really are in person. I do like leather shorts, but I think they can get really tricky to wear…

Lastly, I just wanted to show some really cute earrings I found online. I like it because I think it looks like me!! =D

So far so good…?

I haven’t had the urge to buy anything lately, so I have added a big fat ZERO to my virtual spending bank. Yay? This is a catch-22… I’m not spending any money to buy… but if I don’t “spend”, then how can I accumulate dollars in my virtual bank?

There were a couple things I thought were really cute, but not to the extent that I would actually buy.

Elie Tahari, originally $298, now $177.90, here.  Wear a cute cardigan over this dress, and I think it would make a very pretty work outfit!

Also totally loving these nude patent pumps:

Brian Atwood Maniac pumps, $575. So adorable, very cute, and we all know my obsession with nude shoes! At $575, these pumps are more reasonable than the YSL Tribtoos retailing for $895. I’d totally get these and add this to my virtual bank, but they don’t have my size. That’s cheating right? Adding this to my bank when technically I couldn’t have gotten these shoes anyway. Darn. For anyone lucky enough to be a size 10.5, lookie here.

So there we go! Mid week in my first week, and I have banked $0!
