ODJ

7 Aug

I’ve been super lazy to post ODJ lately, and haven’t had time to do so either.

Yesterday:

lace and chiffon blouse: Forever 21

corduroy skirt: Fornarina

bow slingbacks: Lela Rose for Payless

purse: Gucci

watch: Rolex

When I was dressing yesterday, I had to ask myself whether I was too pink. The pictures are kind of dark, but the blouse is actually more pink than it is purple. Oh well. For once I felt super girly in all my pink wear.

And the day before yesterday was the exact opposite, in all dark colors:

rabbit-fur tank top: Gianfranco Ferre

long cardigan: Moda

shiny black leggings: American Apparel

lace and bow heels: Kenneth Cole

necklace: made by myself!! =)

I don’t know if you can tell from the pics, but I’ve lost 10 lbs since the inception of this blog. I’m trying to lose weight before my wedding next year, and I’m doing quite well. I don’t need to lose any more weight, but I’d really like to add more muscle, and start toning myself, esp. in the ab/thigh area. Oh, and I really hate my chubby looking face, I really wish I’d lose some fat there!!

10 Jun

Chilly day today. What’s going on with the weather lately? It’s JUNE for crying outloud!

white cut-out long sleeve t-shirt: Diesel

brown shimmer scarf: Urban Outfitters

animal print blazer: Max Mara

pink layered chiffon and silk skirt: BCBGMAXAZRIA

pink/red bow slingbacks: Lela Rose for Payless

paddington purse (not pictured): Chloe

Here’s a close-up of the Lela Rose for Payless slingbacks:

I absolutely LOVE the over-sized bow on these slingbacks! Lela Rose has some really cute styles for their Payless collection. They’re probably my favorite designer for the Payless designer line (I also like Abaete for Payless too). I usually shy away from cheap shoes, especially those made by Payless, Target, Walmart because they are so uncomfortable. Don’t get me wrong; I love clothing and accessories from Walmart, etc. (esp. white tanks!) but shoes are almost always a NO because of the material they use…. it’s always coarse, hard, and there’s no way to “break them in.” This seems to be the trouble with the Abaete for Payless shoes. I bought a pair a few years ago… and they’re still tough to wear (and they’re flats)!

I’m very impressed with these Lela Rose slingbacks though; they’re wide enough to fit my big feet, and there is no cramping or skin irritation. I think Payless has upped their quality! Good to know, in this economy.

shoes on a budget

I’ve been on the look out for some cute (and affordable) shoes, and here’s a list of some that I found:

Lela Rose for Payless ($38.00):

Quality: ?

Comfort: ?

Comments: I’ve tried looking for these in person at various Payless stores, but to no avail! Perhaps they’re online-order only?

Ralph Lauren Beth Gladiator wedges (MSRP $120; reduced to $60.95 here):

Quality: 5/5

Comfort: 5/5

Comments: The most comfortable gladiator wedges I’ve ever tried on! I have pretty wide feet, and found that it’s wide enough for me. Since it’s made of leather, it’s soft to the touch as well.

Steve Madden Luxe Brake Ruffle T-strap ($79.95):

Quality: 4/5

Comfort: 3.5/5

Comments: This shoe is from the Steve Madden Luxe line (the high-end line of Steve Madden). The shoe is made of satin and the ruffles are very soft and pretty. Not as wide as the RL gladiators, but enough room; heels are higher than the gladiators too. Probably not ideal for walking long distances.
